i was told the 87 trannys had problems with the 3rd gear shift fork and stuff..... im guessing mine had ALOT of use..so that woulda made it wear down.....

does your 3rd gear work perfect?........like..... when i shifted into 3rd on this when it was messed up..all it did was grind and make noises. but now its fine:)

um its pretty much stock....... all i did was put the 92 tranny in it, all new gaskets/o-rings , and 300ex rocker arms, and i it has a uni filter....

im deffinately going to get an exhaust for it if i dont sell it. what one is the best for the 250x?? the hetrick one looks pretty cool...

If i do keep this 250x im going to redo the topend ....new piston, valves/springs,cam...blah blah.

back at the end of last year when i tore mine down to replace the c/s i looked over everything in the tranny and everything looked PERFECT there were no grind marks or chips on the gears or anyother part of the tranny or motor for that matter i looked for stress marks on the crank, counter balancer, rod and every part of the tranny and there was not even hint of one. i was verry pleased that it was in still that good of shape!

your x looks good! i have a white bros. e-series pro-meg slip on on mine and it is awesome. i think it is the best pipe i have ever riden! i took my buddies off their quad and ripped around on them for a few min and they were nothing like mine! one had a yoshi, one had a big gun, one a hetrick and one a fmf something. none compaired to my white bros.!

how did you get the flipped rims to fit? did you relocate the valve stem or what? becuase they hit the brake disc

drill another hole for the valve stem on the deeper side of the rim........ then where the regular side is just put that valve stem inside out, so it doesnt hit the brake .

a new cam will be about 110$ with core exchange, port job can range alot depends on what you want, 100-300$, larger vavles 100$, hardend rockers i think this cost me 100-150$, lectron carb 200$, high compression piston 100$, i would also recommend a new cam chain which is about 70$, new gaskets 70$, a new pipe 150-400$, bore can vary alot by different companies so 30-60$, new sleeve 100$, stroking 500-650$, you will need a aftermarket clutch by now which will run about 100$ with the springs, i've seen the labor be anywhere from 100-300$, lightened flywheel 60$, titauim(sp) retainers i think were about 120$ maybe less maybe more i forget what all the prices were on my fourwheeler
