So far I have flushed the engine three times using 1 new filter. The oil has turned from a green color to a gold color, but still has a couple flushes to go. Between each flush I run it around 1-2 minutes. While it is running it smokes a good bit. Will it stop smoking soon? What else could be causing it to smoke?

I also lost a screw to my carb ( see which screw below in pic) Will I be able to get one at a hardware store or will have to order from honda?

Thanks for all the help.
Jon

I tried buying one of those a while back. I couldn't find one short enough. I went to my dealer, and they gave me one for free!:D

What color is the smoke? If it is white, I bet it is just residual water steaming off from the oil when it is running. It will get to places that oil won't so easily. It most likely is running past the valve seals or the rings. Hopefully it will clear up. I don't know how it sunk, or if it tried to run underwater, but this is most likely the cause of the smoke.

Just keep flushing it out, the water will eventually get out of there, but it will take a long time.
