my friend has a 1997 suzuki rm125 hes selling. the thing was raced before. it has a hinston sunstar swingarm, c cycle front and back suspension, bills pipe header and slip on, protaper handle bars with mounts, and excel rims. he paid $2800 a year ago and he hasn't rode it much cause he bought a 400ex. he was asking 1900$ for it but i talked him down to 1500$, do you guys think this is a good deal? its a really clean bike and runs good. the only thing that scares me is that it was raced.

Rm's are 2 stroke, and the sort of 2 stoke engine in the RM's love to rev high, ei races :P so if hes not an idiot, the bike should be fine, unless he raced the piss out of it. You will know just by riding it.

yea that sounds like a good deal. rm125's are pretty nice. a friend of mine has one and his is stock, and it's got some balls. it's a 94 i think, he kept very good care of it, raced it i think too, and he did pretty good. runs great and lots of power. so i'd take it for 1,500 and have lots of fun with it!! or save up a lot of money and get a YFZ450 when they start selling...

sounds like a good deal. Only thing i dont like about older 125s or i should say used ones is they usually need a rebuild every year or so. If it was raced that means the throttle was pinned half the time, the piston got a working of its lifetime.. Unless he already rebuilt it again?
