yeah right! I am so sick of polaris,

I have a 1996 polaris sportsman 500, and ever since i got it, it has been nothing but problems, anyway i was driving it today and all of a sudden i hear a click and a grind and the engine quite. well now it doesnt start any more. the electic starter just spins.

I am gona sell it and get something new, but i want to now what is wrong with it first, anyone got any ideas?:rolleyes:

The Polaris' have a spring-controlled bendix that engages the flywheel when the starter spins it. When that spring becomes weak or wears out, the bendix won't move into place against the flywheel.

so that would make the engine stop running?
