Does anyone have any tips on removing the pins that hold the rocker arm bolt in..... i need to take the rocker arms out of a 300ex cover, and put them into a 250x one......the reason i cant use the 300ex rocker cover is because there is no decompression.....

this pic is the 250x rocker arms, that are in REALLY BAD shape.....thats why im putting 300ex ones in there that are in really good shape.

Dr. Honda says the easiest way is with a dowel pin remover. I've never removed them so i can't say how hard it is to do but honda has a special tool for it, so i'm thinkin it's not that easy. But from the manual it looks to me that it should slide up, so if you can get something on there and pull it out you might be doing something. Good luck man.

The special tool takes forever to do. What I did is I clamped on them with a good set of vice grips and then took a pry bar and pryed on the flat part of the cover on the vicegrips. I made sure to lube them up and try and turn them with the vice grips as I pryed. They came out fairly easy.

I just took out mine on Sunday. They sucked to get out I used a good pair of vise grips and tapped on the vise grips with a hammer to pull them out.
