This weekend I plan on taking the carb off my 300 and adjusting everything back to stock (I have messed with fuel screw and the idle stop screw a bit).

First of all, I read in my manual that you have to turn the fuel screw in all the way, then turn it out 2 1/4 turns. People on this site say 2 1/2 turns. Which is it?

My manual also says something about messing with the idle stop screw. It says that when the fuel screw is out 2 1/4 turns, turn it back in 100( rpm's?) from where the idle stop screw is. I do not have a tachometer for this.

Basicly Im askin how many turns out should the fuel screw be, and where should the idle stop screw be. How can I test this to see if it is right after I make the adjustments? Do this adjustment only control idle rich/leanness?

Sorry for makin it sound so confusing but Im just tryin to make sure I do it right so I dont screw it up.

If everything is stock go with what the manual says.
The manual does not reccommend adjusting the fuel screw.

I set the idle by how it sounds, just high enough till it idles smooth.
