The Z400 is quicker then a piped 400EX, no doubt..

I Beg to differ i do believe the piped ex would be quicker than a stock z:o

stock vs stock the z is just a hair quicker not by much

when my motor was stock and i had just the e-series aluminum airbox with k&n and removed joke i could easily smoke my buddies piped z (not other mods) by about 2 bike lengths

Maybe I'm just too heavy then(235lbs). I get smoked by the Z400's and my 400EX is piped and jetted with a 14T front sprocket. Also, I have removed the choke... I don't get beat by a large margin but they definitely are quicker then me.

yup the weight is got a big thing to do with it i'm only weighing in at 115 :eek2: yup i'm just a little popcorn fart, find another z with a 235# rider and i'm willing to bet you won't get smoked

I would guess the Z rider was around 150lbs.. I know weight is HP but I didn't think 85lbs or whatever would be that much of an advantage... I need to stop bodybuilding, I guess.LOL..

well if you were dealing with a 300 hp v8 motor 85lbs to a point wouldn't mean that big of a differance but when your dealing with 30 hp machines 85lbs is goin to make all the differance in the world ;)

If you guys are drag racing then the 14t front sproket is why you are getting smoked.

i hve a stockZ and a slightly built 400ex i feel the z definitely has more torque then a stock 400ex does but it isnt faster in the top end

I accully ahve a seen a stock Z and a 400ex with a FMF exaust race and it was very close

I own a z400 and a 400ex, So does my bro in law. A piped 400ex won't hang with stock z400. A piped, jetted, filtered z400 will hang with some 440's.
