steering stem help?

will a aftermarket stem out of a 250r fit a 400ex?
how about the bearing carrer is it the same

The 250R stem and the 400EX stem will not work from quad to quad. The 400EX is about an inch longer, and the steering stops are on the opposite side of the stem. I've built plenty of both, and they are very different.

Im allmost possitive the 250r bearing carrier will work in the 400ex [I know the bearings are the same]....
