Hey Mike, can ya give me a ring or let me know how to get ahold of ya. Looking seriously at your guys exhaust for the dale. Talked with Karl Moore, his boy, and Steve Maslanik and they have been very happy with your exhausts. I am running for Steve and them locally here in IN, and in some of the upcoming GNCC's. Looking to see how some of the mount issues and tweaks are coming out, and where I can get my hands on the updated ones.

Thanks,

i would like to know how your rev box compairs to the curtis sparks rev box. i already was told that the big gun one produces more power than the white brothers but i don't know if that is true.

BigGun,

I've got a 400ex with a Big Gun Race series slip on, K & N Air filter with outerwear cover, and an EHS Racing air box lid. I have a Dyno Jet stage 2 kit in the stock carb with a 40 pilot jet, the Dyno Jet needle installed, and a 165 Main jet. Does the jetting sound pretty close? Also, I will be adding my new HotCams Stage 2 cam and my 416cc JE hi compression piston soon. Any ideas as to what my jetting should be after I bump it up to the 416?

P.S. Where can I get the Big Gun head pipe that fits the Race series slipon and price? The slipon is bigger than the stock headpipe where the join together.

Thanks for the help,
Doug

i believe you cannot get the head pipe for the slip on due to the fact that the complete system is a larger diameter.

I know what you're saying Cals400ex, but my muffler is the race series which I bought from a fellow member and when he showed me pics of the exhaust system it showed a head pipe with the muffler. But when I got it, he only sent the muffler without the head pipe and he had it for sale as a "full system". The race series muffler has a larger pipe I.D. then the stock head pipe so there is a little gap there. That's why I was asking about a Big Gun head pipe so it will fit correctly.

im in the same boat. i got the 'slip on' but it wasnt a slip on, it was the muffler off a full system. i was in the atv shop and asked about the muffler for sale on the was and they told me it was a slip on. the one on the wall had a reduced inlet to fit the stock head pipe snug. the muffler i have doesnt have the the reduced inlet so i had to rip the inlet of my stocker to get the carbon packing out to use.

Honda 270- call me and I could tell you how to jet your bike.

Chknhwk- Yeah, I got the e-mail...that is how I found this site.

Cals 400EX- http://markynark.com/OnDunesBGCDIPowerCurve.jpg here are the charts of our revbox.

Sandtrax- Call our warranty dept and they should be able to take care of you.

Fast Honda- you can get the header at any local dealer...just let them know hou have the silencer for the complete system.

EX kid- we can't put a quiet core in the 250EX, but we do offer an "end spout reducer" for 13.99 Part # 41-E0040

Mike, it seems as though the CDI graph is "labeled" incorrectly. The graph(s) with the hand drawn arrow referring to the WB unit represent the torque no's, where as the graph(s) with the BigGun arrow pointing towards them represent the horsepower no's. At a glance it appears as though the upper graph is for the BG CDI unit and the lower one is for the WB unit.

Anyway, does the BG box have any modifications that make it more suitable than the re-boxed Honda units for use with the electric starters?

What is the warranty dept's number, and can you help me out on mine? The pipe looks very bad for the over 500 I paid for it, the coating is coming off the head pipe in chunks which happened within 6 months, and the tail is even beginning to rust. I don't think the coating takes well to wet riding conditions. Please help this disappointed customer.

Hey big gun, what jetting should i run....i live at about 700ft above sea level.....Big Gun Race slipon, K&N airfilter. It was jetted by a previous owner, but i think it is running rich.

Hey BigGun, I have your full race exhaust and it constantly leaks at the joint where the muffler attaches to the head pipe. I try sealing it and let it set for several days before riding it, but it blows right out after a couple of rides. And suggestions on a type of sealent or a bracket that will hold it together? Thanks

biggun

Mike 400EX- You are right on the mis-labeling, I will try to get Mark a new chart.

Honda 270EX- The best time to get a hold of me is in the morning(pacific time). Or maybe leave me an E-mail with your contact info and I will call you back!

Joe 250- That might not be rust, maybe it is just an orange film that could be removed with Mother's aluminum wheel polish. If it truly is rust...call our warranty dept.

400EX BigGun- Try running a 158main and 40 Pilot, or call me and I can better assist you. Anybody else have a suggestion?

Honda Rider- Call me and explain your situation...I am sure I can help you!

Everybody have a safe and fun weekend...talk to ya on Mon!

HI Biggun, couple of questions....

Thinking about getting one of your silencers..Looking for Low end grunt rather than top speed..Am I heading in the right direction??

Also I heard they are loud (In a good way)...If I ever ride somewhere where loud isn't better is there any way to quiet them down....(Some kind of core)...what would the price be on the core if there is one??

Thanks
CHris

What bike are you running?

all of our pipes 250cc and above can be converted from race to quiet just by simply changing a core! The core runs $49.95

Thanks for the quick reply mike....I have an 03 400ex and am looking for more torque rather than top speed for the trails. How do your silencers do on the low end??

Also do you guys have a web site??

Thanks again
Chris

our complete system will work great for your application. We build our exhaust to best work with the weekend warrior, it works great all around...from the track to the trail! Other things you might need is our revbox(1750 RPM's over stock, 2Hp.), and we also have rectifiers, these boxes simply plug in and add up to a 9% Hp increase. They manipulate the charging system to only chare when needed, rather than charging all of the time(stock). They only retail for $129.95

i am running a old big gun full pipe on a 400ex -its has a one peice end cap instead of two peice like is on my wifes new slip on -i have heard the new header pipe is bigger than the old one -im running a 440 kit now and think a bigger header pipe would make more power -is it a big enough difference to order a hole new pipe

heres a good question, what do you at big gun plan on doing with your designs to meet the proposed db level at gncc's? i realize most of your exhaust probaly meet the limit for a stock motor,(with the exception of maybe your race series) but it seems motors w/ extensive mods would be quite a bit louder

i got a big gun slip on on my '02' wolverine and it didnt give me much of a power difference from stock would the race core i could buy for that help for power??? im considering getting one not only for the power but the sound, those HMF's are loud on those grizleys cant hear when racing! later,Rob

i have one for the 250ex. very noticeable power gain throught the power band. its loud enough to piss peopkle off,but it was deffinatley worth it. the bike pulls 2,3,4and 5 gears much better and can be lugged through turns without a problem. i found a 104 main, stock needle, stock piolet and close up airbox with a uni fitler to work very well.

Yo big, most revboxes are simply re-badged Honda XR250 boxes that rev higher than stock but also make the 400EX harder to start. Is yours based off of one of these? The last thing that I need is a harder starting machine. Thanks!

Mike,

Welcome! It's great to have access to your expertise. I am a sponsored rider with Big Gun and you guys have been awesome! The Evo X full system made a huge difference on my 450r. I just had a friend order a big gun Evo full system for his 400ex. He has had mild porting and an 11.5:1 wiseco piston. Where would you start with jetting changes? Thanks Mike

I was wondering, the price on your site for 2005 trx450r is like over $500, but in the magizines it is like $470. Is it actually lower than that price but thats just your MSRP or what? And could I get my hands on biggun race pipe and not the evo? IF not what is the advantage of the evo pipe except the noise?
