probally cobra. no, i am just kidding. go to the faq's and read what some of the magazines said or do a search, there's a ton of info on this topic. if i was buying one, i would get a sparks x-6.

lrd is a great pipe also. my friend has the big gun and i would highly NOT recommend it. it leaks, gives little top end power, and isn't the best quality. the race company pipes (lrd, curtis sparks, ct etc.) will yield the most gains. everyone has their own opinion but, this is what the majority of people on here would recommend if you have the cash.

I have the lrd header and silencer. I am very pleased with it overall. It is the best sounding pipe I've heard, and has very good power. It did devolope a leak in the silencer though. Nothing major-doesn't affect anything. My friend's white bros did the same thing in the same place. I also like my lrd because not very many people have it. oh well-that's my 2 cents-I hope it helps in your decision making.

I like the new curtis sparks shorty pipe?also. It sounds good too.

I have to say HMF or Curtis Sparks X6
I had them both on my bikes and loved them both. I know the White Brother E-Series pipes have issue about breaking.

yeah, i am not too fond of cobra either. i am not bashing people who have it though, just saying that i would not get one. they are too loud and don't seem to give much power.

Sparks X-6, White Brothers E series, Pro Circuit T-4, LRD, or Hetrick would be my choices

sparks x-6

i just got my cobra the other day & it isn't as loud as I thought.....? which one is the loud one because mines the 4-stroke system. It does seem to give better throttle response & I can now easily pull wheelies in 3rd gear where before I had to struggle. If your looking for power I wouldn't get this pipe, but if your low on cash & want a loud exhaust....this is the one to get.:D

Differences are minimal. I have had a WB slip, full, Pro Circuit, and a LRD, the differences mostly sound and looks. If you have a high performance motor, they make a bigger difference. Stock motors don't care as much.

Exactly. I really like the LRD system I have but high quality full systems will be very similar. My pipe did rub against the shock when I put it on but that can be fixed. Once you get into motor mods you're gonna need a good size header pipe.

I'm not sure if all of you guys are riding in open areas with no noise restrictions all the time, but I went with the HMF partly because if their very efficient quiet core that drops the db's down to 91-94 or so without giving up much power at all. We tested my friend's Z400 with and without the quiet core and there was veeery little, if any, noticable power difference with it in. His bike is otherwise stock, so it might make more of a difference with a modified motor, but here in California if you're in a state park and you're over 96db, you're going to get caught and you're going to go home. I'd rather lose .5hp then lose a day of riding and have to pay for a ticket. Plus, I like to ride in my backyard with several close neighbors and I don't really want to piss them off. I'm not sure if you can get a quiet X-6 or CT pipe, but I was impressed enough with the HMF to make it my pipe of choice. It doesn't have the highest peak HP, but it pulls hard down low and still gives a respectable top end, which to me is perfect for the recreational/trail rider that like to do everything. If I rode soley MX, then I might have made a different choice (DMC alien or Sparks).
