both jets should be facing the bottom side of the carb. you should see them as soon as you take the float boal off. the main jet should be right in the center and the pilot just off to the side. the main should be quit a bit larger tha the pilot and by you saying 142 i am guessing that is the main jet. try a 150-152 main and a 38-40 pilot. that should be good for your set up, but of course it always takes some tinkering:devil:

It's kinda hard to tell from the pics but I think the first ones are of the slow jet (pilot jet)
The last two are the pilot screw usually refered to as the air/fuel screw.

the first two i think is the pilot jet the then the next two i think is the main jet it came out from the middle of the two float bowl and the 3rd two i have no idea.

The second two could be main "Dynojets" i'm not familiar with their set up.
I'll stand by my first reply on the others.

You may have backed out the main jet including the jet holder. The main should be stamped on the top or side of the jet with a number around 145+. The main is very small about 8mm in height, it may have been screwed in too tightly and you backed out the entire holder assy.

well i figured it out. the jet assy. that holds the jet did not have a jet in it so it was getting way too much gas. so i took my jet out of my old one (148) raised the idle and it works fine. i think im going to get a 150 though so i dont have to have the idle so far. if i have the idle far in does that mean i have less throttle space?

1) Pilot jet
2) Emulsion tube (main jet screws into it)
3) Fuel screw for idle circuit

Okay, what do I win?:D

my respect.

Uping the size of the main jet won't help the idle. Main jet is only for 3/4 to full throttle. Go to the tech section and read the article about jetting. I think it will help a lot.

With a basically stock motor, run a 40 pilot, and turn the fuel screw out 2 1/2 turns from lightly seated.

i already have a 42 pilot in it.
