Yeah its crazy how they price some houses. My mom and step dad are sitting on a gold mine. There house is 2800sqft, has a 60x40ft pole barn, and 50 acres of woods.

I feel your pain, Jim. I woke up this morning and had to build my wife a small cabinet to go next to the oven for her cookie sheets and muffin tins.

After that I moved onto the Venetian plaster on the kitchen walls. I'm taking a couple hour break to go to a family cookout but then it's back at it this evening.

my house was built new in 1983 and we bought it in 1985 for like 52,000$... now its probably worth 43,000$ if we are lucky... its a 40x30 split entry...

houses aroud here are cheap... those houses u all post pics of wouldn't be worth 60,000$ here... but then again i live in a place that has no economic value what so ever...

when the coal mines closed here we lost everything:grr:

:p Actually, I stopped on purpose. I'm building a corner pantry and after doing the top half of the wall right there I figured I might as well save the plaster that's $36/gallon and skip the area that's going to get covered up anyway. That's just the first coat right there. You've got to go over it again with a second coat of plaster, then a coat of top coat and then you have to burnish it with 600 grit sandpaper. It's a lot of work but looks great when you're done with it.

Well this weekend I got the 'old "could you wash my car today...hey, give that new fancy buffer a try that you just bought"

...after a complete wash job, clay bar, 3M rubbing compound, 3M swirl remover (for dark cars) and 2 coats of 3M wax it was done. Only took around 6 hours, half bottle of Cruzan Rum & a 2 liter of Coke.

I wish I had a before picture... her paint was SO screwed up and blemished....

anyways, I scored some brownie points after this. :D :D :D

Yep, glad to see I'm not alone this weekend working around the house. I put in some flower beds/shrubs, finished some painting inside the house, straightened up this and that, changed out some lights, etc. It was alot of work this weekend, but it will free some time up for me this summer. :)
VWVR6, that shine is great! If a fly landed on it, it would keep sliding and go off the other side!:p
Everybodys work/projects looks great!

thanks! I can honestly say I was surprised how well it turned out...that 3M stuff worked wonders. It was also the first time I used a "clay bar" to clean the paint... this also worked great! I'd highly recommend it to anyone that is very anal about their cars. LOL :D
