I was wondering if it is possible to put grease zerks on the stock 400ex a-arms. I always seem to be taking out the bolts and re-greasing them because they make noises. I was think maybe a machine shop could drill a hole in the arm, and put the zerk in.

Stock 400EX's use sealed bearings in the a-arm pivots. You need to replace these. Removing your bolt and greasing it is temporarily alleviating the squeaking but it's also adding to your problem. You don't want that bolt spinning inside the inner race of the bearing. And if you're replacing the bearings you might as well replace the 2 dust seals on either side of the bearings. The bad news is that these bearings are about $20 each and you'll obviously need 8 of them. The good news is that the dust seals are only about $2 and you'll need 16 of them. All you're doing by greasing inside there is allowing the bearing to spin in ways it's not supposed to and likely chewing things up.

NTN bearings, they use them in Indy cars and stuff. They are mostly for cars, but I know they make really small bearings too cause my dad used them on the kubota lawnmower. I will phone them up... whats the size of a 400ex a-arm bearing??

I cant find any for the 400ex in the catalogue. Only Steering stem, front wheel (inside and out), and axle carrier(left and right)
are any of these bearings the same as the a-arm bearings ?

Instead of replacing the already crappy bearings with new crappy bearings get a kit off ebay that uses nylon bsuhings. They should last longer, and i think its like only $70.
