Well its official, My motor is screwed!
My valve seals went out this week so I'm gonna be tearin it apart, I'm wonderin if i should just do a stock bore 11:1 piston with a hotcams stage 2 cam or go with the 416 with the same cam.
I'm kinda worried about jetting and reliability with the 416, So is it worth it?

Yeah. I just don't want something I'm going to have problems with.
I'm wondering if the hotcam stage2 is a good enough cam or if i should spend the $$ and go with a webcam.
Are there any points of stress in the 400ex's motor that I should look at upgrading with the extra power besides the clutch?
Thanks.

Personally, I'd go for the 416.
An 11:1 416 with a stage 2 would be a nice set-up!

You could always just go to 406... that way it's still a fresh bore but not that much more displacement - is .20 over a 406???

I would go with the 416. I just got myne done and it is a huge power difference. If you are gonna do it you might as well get as much power out of it as you can.

If you are gonna do it then do it right. Go to a 416 with a Ross 10.8:1 Pistion then a Cometic Steel Flex Gasket Kit that will bump up the compression to 11:1. Then go an spend the extra cash and get a WEB or TC or Sparks Cam. You won't be dissaponinted by any means...
