hey ok i have a 1997 rm125 now, just got it. i looked down at the plug and saw that it was a bp4hs. i thought it was a little wierd but i heard that suzukis run a different plug in those years. i know this isnt a good site to ask but i usualy come here for problems and no whewre else can give me a good answer. i think what im gunna do is run a br8es for a little while but i was aminly wondering if running the original plug would dammage the plug from the high heat.

The stock plug is a r6918b-8. Retail on that plug is $36.95  :eek2: The br8es will work but you will notice a difference with the $30 plug just bites when you foul one..

I don't think I'd run it with a BP4HS in it. It might not hurt a thing, but it just doesn't sound like a good idea to me. The "4" is what scares me.

I used to have a '97 RM 125 that I raced MX with, and like Silverfox said, when I went to the dealer and asked how much a plug cost, I almost passed out:eek2:. So I went around and asked a few of the other riders what they were running (this was in '97, so several riders had a '97 RM) and most of them were running a plain old B8ES. After I talked to a few of the A-class riders and found that they were running the B8ES without any problems, that's what I started using. I ran a B8ES in my RM for almost two years without any problems. After I sold the bike, the owner continued to run a B8ES without any problems.

They make the side electrode look funny (not the usual "L" shape), they make the center electrode really little, they add a whole lot of insulator around the center electrode, then they slap on a number that's too hard to remember. Then to top it all off, and the real reason it costs over $30;), they say that it is OEM equipment and is what the bike was designed to use, so that's the only plug you should even consider putting in there:D
