got the 39 mm carb today will it make.....

ok i got the 39mm carb today that i bought and its the stock one bored out. will i notice a big difference or will it not make that much of a difference?

Put it on and lets us know how it runs. The stock one bored out to a 39. I checked with sparks about their carb mod and i don't think they go that big. I am ready for a carb mod.

my ridin buddy bored his out on the 300ex and made a big difference...prob about 3-5 hp difference

i think i might have gotten shafted. when compared to the stock one it does not look like there is a diffrence at all. it idles alot higher though but i need to re jet it it bogs out. and runs real hot anyone have any suggustions on what size jets to use. i have kand n filter and stock pipe thanks.

i would check the plug first. see what color it is. if its running hot, i would bet the bike is running lean. with just a K&N and a new carb, i would think the main jet should be a 150 or a 152. i am assuming its on a 400ex. also, if it idles too high, lower that.

i was futsing with the idle screw and it didnt change anything. i put my old carb on and it runs fine. not to hot either. so im going to get some jets and see how it goes any other suggestions on jet size?
