Carb Boring

Has anybody bored there stock carb out? They said you can bore it 2mm making it a 37.5mm. I heard it will give you more top end but will you lose bottom?? Please help. I have a 440 and looking for a little more with out buying another carb, I like the stocker.

I think curtis sparks can do that,,go check out his webpage and read up,,I'm thinkin of doin the same thing myself..

The carb. is oval bored from the factory. If you just bore it concentric you will gain a little top end and loose a little bottom. The carb. needs to be opened up vertically taller an the main passage needs to be wider. Do not do anything with the lower half of the chamber or you will loose the bottom end. If interested I do these mods for $75.00.

what do you mean vertically taller where?? Where the slider is at or the top of theoval bore??

I got mine bored. I think its worth the money. I was able to raise my jet size from stock 120 to a 138 right now. It gave me a pretty noticeable power gain
