View Full Version : rear bearing housing trouble

on my 250x my rear housing that holds my bearings spins and loosens my chain. the bolts are tight holding it in there but it still truns and my chain gets loose is there a trick or something to make it stay in one place? when i start my quad up when its cold it smokes the smoke is a gray color what could be the problem? thanks:confused: :confused:

Try this...
Take it out, clean it and the swing arm, spray it with WD-40 and reinstall.
Someone else will have to help with the smoking issue....

taking it out and spraying it will stop it from sliping? i never thought of that thanks

I Don't know much about the 250x but it might do the trick. The idea is to clean out the crud that could be in there. There might be a more serious issue but I like to try the simpler/cheaper things first:p Good luck,

join the f-in club i replaced two rear bearing carriers in a course of one year and ill i did was trail ride on my old 300. U need a new carrier. If you get one save and get a taperd carrier. They have a 1 or 2 year warrentey i think might be more.

i cleaned it out and sprayed it with wd40 and it didnt slip yet(nock on wood) if i do need a new carrier then i will get one with a warrentey

my axel lock nut wasnt tight could that have caused the housing to turn? how tight should the axel lock nut be very tight?
