what is the right gearing for 18inch back turf tamers ?? i will be racing motocross there isnt many straights so im not sure let me no i might start racing some Xc races with the 18's also please give me some ideas thanks

Knowing if you ride a tricycle or a 1967 harly sporster would be nice..:eek: what kinda quad you talkin about here?:confused:
and unless you have a death wish...i'd keep the 18 tires off the trails and don't even think about racin XC with them..
sounds like you need a good 20 inch rear tire for all applications.. Look into Kenda's new klaw tire...price is great and I'm seein more and more pro's using them..:cool:

i have an 02 400ex
what should the gearing be for the motocross with 18?? i have a set if 20 inch tires for the XC i was just curious what if it would be diff gearing or not thanks

Definately 20" for XC
I think stock gearing works best.
The 18" MX should increase your low end. Try a 14 tooth on the front if you want more for MX.
Running 18 rears i've found stock gearing and a 36 tooth on the rear to be the best.. I tried a 14 up front and you will loose 1st gear completely with this setup..I didn't care for it at all...
15/36 for MX

so a 14 tooth front sprocket is not good with 18 inch tires on a stock bike??

no its to low of gearing. I dont ever use first with stock gearing and 18's so im gunna try a 36 rear
just got my 15/36 gearing on today and wow its perfect i have 18 inch rears:)
