what kind of experience have any of you guys had with a stroker motor? Whats all involved in making a stroker motor run sweet, but not losing the reliability. I was debating this idea, asking different people their input...people have told me to bore my motor to a 416, then stroke it to a 440?? I saw that Nick23 had a stroker crank installed in his motor and it was like $1200 to do the job??? I dont know if thats true or not, I just heard it "word of mouth". Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.:)

stroking can cost a pretty penny compared to boring

also if you want to keep your reliability then don't do nothing to the motor cause no matter what you do to the motor boring or stroking the reliability factor goes down;)

hey uglymotha, are you happy with your motor and the performance it puts out. I like your setup you have.....

i couldn't be more happier with my setup it has a real nice mid hit that pulls real hard all the way to the top to me it seems like the perfect track setup however in the woods i could wish for a little more low-end torque but then again i went with the stg 2 which is a high end cam if you want low-end torque you would want to replace my cam with the stg 1

I race a lot of motocross and i wanted something to TRY to keep up with the 426's, 440's, and 450's. How much did you spend on your setup?

I have a 463 stroker from FDO and have no problems with it at all. call them up and pick there brain a bit on them. the # is 740-967-1078. I think you will like what they have to say about the price and reliability of their stroker motors.

I mailed in my engine yesterday to Trinity Racing for a 465 stroker kit that came with teardown, instalation, cam, pipes, head port, superlite piston all the goodies....... supposed to raise hp up to 60-65. all for $2400.

from what i understand, for MX there is nothin like the 440 strokers. and yeah they r pricey, and from what i hear totally wirth it. ive seen nick23's quad, and that thing runs. if i had the money, i would get a 440 stroker. but i think im gonna build a yz this winter. anyways, as far as keepin up with 426s and 450s, just ride at or above the ability of the riders of those quads. i know easier said then done. but i have a 416 and just a cam, and last sunday, i raced a few of them, and i beat them. i even came out of the holeshot in 2nd. but also, the reason i did so good, was that the riders werent consistent. the only one to beat me, ran a clean race. otherwise, everytime someone passed me, they crashed. so, i say ride a clean fast race, and sometimes u can beat anything.

if you are just want a 440 FDO is getting more power out of there 440 bore than other people are getting out of strokers. don't waste you money on a 440 stroker, but if you want to go bigger stroke it!!!!!!!!

i stand corrected, but i do know 440 strokers do run good.

Not to be mean but you will never gwt 60-65HP out of a Trinity 465. I know 2 people with Trinity 465's and they are both less than 46HP Trinity even says 45HP when you call them. I even raced a Trinity 465 at the Memorial Weekend sand drags,,,,they are a joke!!!! Thats why Harry always recomends putting NOS on all his motors, thats the only way they will keep up with the competition!!

i dont care what they say cause i had a 416 that was built and the 500 i have now is insanely different. there isnt a 440 anything that really has a chance. chadexer has an all out dragster but mine is kinda a sleeper and it cant be touched by any of the mx rides out there. if you are gonna stroke it go the biggest possiblke and you wont be dissapointed.
