I am currently in the proccess of a trade in a which i am getting a 36t rear renthal sprocket... I know stock is 38.... So will the 36 give it more top end or bottom end???

Also if i want my setup to be the same as if i had stock rear sprocket and 14t front would i need to run the 36 in the rear and a 15 upfront??

thanks guys

36 tooth rear will give you more top end. With 14 on the front it will probably be pretty close to stock.

Changing one tooth on the front sprocket is like changing 3 on the rear. You can fine tune better using the rear but it's more $. Using the 14 on the front gives you more low end, putting the 36 on will probably bring it pretty close to stock.

The 15/36 combo is great but if you go to a 14/36 your gonna have to cut some links out of your chain...:ermm:

I'd leave it at 15/36..:macho

I like my 15/36 gearing it is a great combo.

so a 15 front 36 rear will be ALMOST stock but just a tad lower end or will it be a tad higher end?????? because someone said changing one up front is like changing 3 on the back

Sorry i meant would the 14/36 gearing be a tad lower than stock gearing or higher????

Also someone said you have to cut links out of the chain.... That means you have to tighten it up and stuff... does it take off from your wheelbase of the bike whenever you have to to adjust the chain or is that not how it works??

thanks guys

I am running 20 inch tires then in the dunes I run haulers. I have the power to do it so I keep it there all the time.

a 14/36 will give a little more low end than a 15/38. i tooth in the front equals about 2.5 teeth in the rear.
