Ok, I am interested in getting a pipe, but I wanna know what to go with? I dont want FMF, DG, or stuff like that. I dont know if I should go for the Slip-on or the Full-System. I have been told Slip-ons give more bottom end, so give me your ideas

Thanks
Craig Hendriks.

I had a big gun slip on and i definitely picked up most of the gains in the bottom end. It was a little loud for me, but if that's not a big deal then I think a big gun would be what you're looking for.

e-series! If you don't have motor work I've always heard you don't need a full system. The e-series is suppose to be a good mid pipe and you can pick up good used ones for cheap, I think there is one on e-bay right now in good shape for $125...

For a stock bore motor, you will get the best overall performance from a slip-on. Unless you go to a big bore, the full systems flow so well that they reduce the back pressure enough to lose quite a bit of bottom-end power. For high RPM riding, a full system works well, but if you want bottom end and midrange power, the a slip-on would be your best choice.

The three best slip-ons that I know of are the TC (*not CT*), WB E-Series, and HMF. All three have good bottom end and perform pretty similar at low to mid RPMs, but at the higher RPMs the TC pulls harder. If noise bothers you, the WB E-Series would probably be your best bet. The HMF has the coolness factor if you are going for the "show and shine" look because it is availble in various colors. Overall though, I prefer the TC because you get good bottom-end, but it also pulls good at the higher RPMs too.

Well in the winter I am getting a 416 or 426 so I will have motor work. So my best bet is to probably go with a full system?

You can call TC Racing directly at (814) 723-3514. I've had that phone number for quite a while, but maybe it hasn't been changed.

Or you can check with Rocky Ridge Racing at (270) 259-9604.

In my opinion, even if you go with a 416, if you are going to be riding woods and trails where you need plenty of bottom-end, you will still get the best results from a slip-on. For MX though, a 416 and a full system will work well together. With a 426 or bigger, if you use midrange cam (not an ultra high-reving desert or MX cam), then you should have plenty of bottom-end power to get away with a full system in any riding condition. With a 426 or bigger, you make up the bottom-end power with the bigger cc's, and will make full benefit of a high flowing full system at higher RPMs.

W/B E Series slip-on seems to be working well for me. Price is right and the sound is great without being overbearing. IMHO.

damn, this is so hard to decide, I think I will just get a full system cause thats what I did with my 300ex and it worked good. The only type of riding I do is MX and Trail. But I like MX better so I think I am gunna set it up for that. But on the track here I need more bottom end. I am going to be putting on a 14 tooth for now.

I would say the DMC Alien , It gives your bike a crap load of bottom end and mid range power, it also looks sweet! :D Ryan

Thats total bullshyt..... DMC sucks ***. I can piss the amt of power it adds. Mainly cuz it adds a microscopic amt that never gets to wheels. Takes away low end power and adds it to high 5th gear top end. If you race that pipe is the dumbest thing to have since racers spend about 90% of the time in 2nd and 3rd

wow, that is probobly the stupidest thing I have ever heard. the dmc is a low end pipe. you obviously have never ridden a bike with one on or you are just dumb.

Id say get a t-4 they have really good bottomend. The WB is a little bit better but you can expect to have to fix it once amonth. everyone I've ever seen has broken in at least 1 place usualy more. and the difference between a top end and bottom end pipe isnt what gear your in its what RPM range your in. gear has nothing to do with it.

e-seris, big gun, fmf, yoshi..they're all crap COMPARED to a Sparks x-4 or x-6. my x-4 seems to have more bottom end than an x-6 my friend has..but his x-6 seems 2 have more top end.

Nacs man get the Sparks X-6, you will love it... a guy i race with has a x-6 on his raptor and he said after that it pulled like a mofo through all gears... it has an awsome bark to it, i love that sound.... give splash n dirt a call on monday, ask for Guy, and tell him Timo N, sent ya... i believe it is 800 canadian... you won't be disapointed...

i was going to get sparks but my plans are on another quad for next season, so mine will stay the same for now...

also have splash n dirt build your 416, they built some of the best built 400exs out there... some one had a 440ex built by splash n dirt and he would pull everyqaud on holeshots... tons of torqure, fast 440ex you will ever see... give him a call, he nows what he is talking about!!!

If I was you and in your situation i would buy the HMF Slip-on now. Then whenever you get your engine done just buy the header and you'll have your Full-system.
