Ok I have been looking in a few magazines and I was wondering what an amp link is and what does it do?

Amp link i an add on sprocket assy that bolts to the swingarm pivot. It has a small upper and lower sprocket that hels to align the chain better throughout the suspension travel. With the stock setup if you pull up against a tree for instance and start to let out the ckutch the rear suspension becomes rigid and the chain trys to climb making the rear of the quad rise. With the amp link it doesn't rise and it lets the suspension work better.I must warn you that they are noisy. My mechanic says that they eat bearing quick but i've had mine since Jan. and i've been pretty hard on it with no problems yet.
I ride a piped & jetted 300 and a buddy rides the same, when we last went to the track i could hang with him and his new Works shocks with my stockers and we turn almost identical lap times.Wait till i get the 400 frontend on mine:devil
It does make a difference but i dont have enough time on it to recommend it yet.Let me know if you would like pics.

it does make a difference, however there is much better ways to spend the $125 it costs.

It prevents to keep the rear suspension from soaking up the energy and applies it to the ground. It is an awsome product for the banshee. It had some problems with the 250r and lt250r; there simply wasn't enough room between the counter shaft and the pivot bolt for it to mount and br rigid. It was also a good bolt on for the blaster.

Alright, sounds like a somewhat decent product, I am guessing it helps keep the chain from slapping around too?

Didn't the Amp Link get voted one of the most worthless quad mods of all time? I remember that getting some of the highest votes along with the old "Roost Boost" ignition plug-in.

Amp link = Garbage
It's as simple as that, I wouldnt even take one for free!
The whole rigid suspension because of chain tension scheme is complete BS. Its just added weight and a waste of money

Actually when the amp link was introduced dirt wheels voted it as one of the best bolt on's.

My gradpa has one on his modded shee. It is garbage. Even stock suspended shees can hang with his in fast deep whoops. IMO it does nothing but it did make it to where we never have to adjust the chain. Wierd.

lmao, true, oh so very true!
I just thought about that, Amplink advertises in DW, so DW would be missing out on a few dollars if they put down on the AMPlink...:ermm:

I'm sure glad I read this thread! A buddy of mine was talking about buying one for his 300, but I had no clue as to what exactly it did. So now I know, it's a big $125 thumbs down.
