For those of you who have a hotcam stage 1 cam, how does the engine ticking/noise compare to the stock cam. Hear any noise while riding and reving the engine? Im trying to get the least noisy cam that i can.

The stk cam will be the least of the noise offenders due to the closer or smaller valve lash settings.

Sounds like a stock XR400 cam is what ya need.. :cool:

mine is a lot louder than it was stock. Is it possible that it is because i have a higher compression piston too?

There is a lot going on inside that engine and any part of it can add to the noise.

Some parts get louder as they "wear in" and some get quiter.
