Hey guys
I just ordered 2 Kenda Klaw MXR's in 18x10.5x9. I mainly run XC but this summer my series takes a break and I'll be running MX to stay in shape. The #1 reason I ordered these tires is because they fit the stock rim(I've got lots of them lying around). Price was also another factor. I've got the 21x7x10 Klaw XCF's on the front. I think this setup will be pretty good. I'll post pics when they get here.
I'm running 15/39 gears with 20's on right now. What should I run for the 18's?

you have to go down on the back sprocket cause you can't go that big, try 15 / 36

Thanks guys. Anyone know of a steel 36 tooth sprocket? I HATE aluminum it just doesn't last long enough. I may run a 16 front I know some guys who are running one with a case saver right now.

The stock is 48 teeth and depends on what brand of sprocket but they range from $23 and up
I have to agree with the Klaw tires they work awesome
We carry a steel rear 36 sprocket.

Typo, Silverfox meant 38 teeth on stock rear sprocket.

Show ME Your Boobies! wait a minute please don't. Post a pic of your quad. I haven't seen the 18 in Klaws yet.
I run 21 inch front tires, I ride a little bit of everything too though. MX XC Trails Dunes. You name it I ride it except for Ice, that stuffs cold and I'm not a fan of racing on solid water.

so with a 36 tooth sproket and 18 inch rears you get the same acceleration but a higher top speed?

before u go sprockect cracy, try riding with the stock gearing and 18"ers

Okay, I'm one tooth up from stock on back. running 15/39 for XC maybe it will work well. Other wise I'll get a 16 and slap it on.

I like stock gearing with 18"s on the rear also.
I like to run a 14T front with 20"s.
I have the Klaws all the way around.
I really like my 18x10.5-9s on the rear, I was worried they would ride pretty stiff with no sidewall, but I really like them.
I have the 20"s on the front, but I still have stock fronts for the winter and the trails.

yeah stock gearing seems about perfect for 18" tires seeing imo the stock gearing is to high for he 20" tires. That is if you have a almost stock motor.

no, thats not how it works, you either gain torque/acceleration w/ a lower top speed or vice versa.
I see some of you run 18" tires on stock rims? Don't you guys have a problem w/ the tires coming off the bead? It happened all the time to me.
