Guys i picked up my new truck today! 2003 Chevy 2500hd LS. Its bad arse!!! I need to get a bed liner tho. I can get a plastic drop in chevy one from my dealer for 210. I was wondering if i should get one of those or spend the 400 on a spray in. This is a work truck and lots of stuff will be in this bed. Which would you recommened.

The plastic one let stuff slip around alot,,,,,,i have a rhino in my truck that came with it when i got it,,,,,,,its great.

My friend is a dealer for Vortex,,,,,,like rhino but a different name......and i help him do (watching mostly...LOL) bedliners sometines........i dont think i would ever get a plastic drop in even if it was $50

I would get a spray-in=more protection, water and stuff can get under a drop-in=rust. Just my thoughts :D

spray on. Just make sure you've seen the shops work before. I have heard of some real hack jobs being done with this bedliner.

...anyways...nice truck! :D

Spray on bedliner is deff the way to go, but be sure its the good stuff. The ones that last longer use a hardener unlike what you see being sold at walymart etc. but I hear if you use hardner in that it works well also.

I have seen some guys get good results at home with a roller (the right roller lol) but thats not the best way for everyone.

spray on definately, you can get a color you like and it looks better, plus stuff like coolers and other plastics like gas cans wqont be able to slide around as much.

the drop in ones move around and wear the paint off then the bed rusts (just incase no one said that already) the spary in one its like turning you bed into a piece of sand paper..nothing slips

not entirely true yes the bed liner does act like a piece of sand paper and takes the paint off but it doesn't rust as long as your using the truck as a daily driver i've had my drop in, in my truck since 95 and if i was to go out there right know and pop the liner out it's nothing but bare steel no rust

but still if i had the choice now i would go with the spray in:p

I would say go with Rhino or Super liner. Especially when its brand new, when there is like no oxidation going on yet. Though, My s10 had a drop in liner, it is a 1993 and I took it out and it looks still real real good. Only at the end near the tailgate and the gate itself has some rust from where the water ran off for a few years.

Spray in...

I had a car battery bust in the back of my truck and had battery acid all over the inside of the bed. Did not find this until the next morning and it did not bother the liner at all.

I would have made the dealership take the truck and have linex sprayed in the bed as part of the deal. Of course that is a lot easier for me because I have 3 family members who work at the Ford dealership where I would have purchased a Ford on the A plan instead of buying a Chevy.

Line-X over Rhino-liner any day. the rhino wil fade and dull with in a few months. The Line-X will stay black and new looking. And is, by everything I have read, a superior product. I did a lot of research on both product lines a few years back thinking about buying the equipment. and Line-x was much better.

incase your wondering what is in my truck, I run a rubber mat. $45 at the auto-parts store;)

I am going to hop on the band wagon.

Spray/Roll-In

I use a roll in, because it is cheaper, and easy to touch up. If you have the money however, get it sprayed in by a good shop.

I have had my Herculiner in for about 2 years, and other than a few minor scratches, it has been awesome. This is with hauling around my quad with 4 tires full of ice screws all winter long to races, etc. It has been great. If I need to touch it up, I can go buy another can of it for like $20 and do in in my garage.

Don't cheap *** yourself out. Get the spray in liner. I got Speedliner put in my S-10 and it is awesome. It is supposed to be better than Rhino Liners. Either way this has been a dream come true for my truck bed. I am so glad I have the spray in liner.

LOL the worst thing my truck bed sees is topsoil and cord wood. Cord wood will dent through a spray-in liner if bounced of off the fender. So for me I see no point in spending the money on one. I need a mat so stuff don't slide(like the dog), but if I am moving rock or something hard on the bed, I go get my buddies 3/4 ton dump bed.

ooooooh, a mans truck:rolleyes: prolly got testostorone dripping from the lift kit and brass balls hangin from the rear diff huh?

Spray in bedliners actually ADD to the resale and trade-in value of a truck.
