I had to do a project where i am given $1000(not really :( ) and i have to buy all the needed things to go on a 500 mile trip in the desert:huh encluding gas

my question is, what gas milage does a Kawasaki KX500(that is what i am taking through the desert :devil ) get?

i need help fast! i will give the first person to reply with the real gas milage(don't make something up) some stickers. it is all i can do:ermm:

Based on when my experience riding 2-stroke dirt bikes (never rode a 500 though), I'd say you'd be lucky to get anything over 15mi per gallon. Back when I raced a 125, I got about 18mi per gallon, but I wasn't running it very hard either (I never could ride a dirt bike worth a crap :(). By being in the desert where you can keep it opened up pretty good on the straights and being on a 500 that requires more fuel and air, I'd say 15mi would be about as far as you could stretch a gallon of gas; maybe less if you get too throttle happy:macho.

If you need gas mileage, go with a 4-stroke. A high performance 2-stroke can suck down gas quicker than a fat frat boy can suck down beer:D

Do you have to buy the bike also ? You could prolly get around 13 MPG.

he he he, been in this spot many times young lad. just make somethin good up like 50 mpg, you'll have spare maney at the end of the trip, and chances are your teacher does'nt have a clue about dirtbikes.

if they do question you, tell them the old ones sucked gas but there have been major leaps and bounds in the "offroad fuel consumtion" field in recent years.

teacher will buy it, trust me
