What should I check into, my 250x takes about 10-15 kicks to get it going when it's REALLY cold out, with or without choke doesn't make a difference, storing with the gas switched on or off doesn't seem to make a difference. If I give it a little gas while kicking it over it get's very hard to kick, I can only guess the compresson release doesn't work with the gas on? once it gets going it goes like, one turn, two-three turns, then it fires up and idles fine. Once I shut it off after it's warm it takes 2-4 kicks to get going again... thanks for the help, I'm still not used to carbs, I like FI on my car :D

It might be because you keep it outside.

I'm sure it's because I keep it outside and in the cold weather, I guess I am asking more along the lines of, should I go up on the pilot or adjust the needle for this?

I was browsing my clymers and remembered I hadn't adjusted the valves in I'm sure at least 20+ hours of riding, I'm going to give that a shot and see if it helps.

Adjusting your valves does help , before i got mine done my ex was very cold blooded after i got it done it worked perfect, i also set my idle a little bit higher so it idles as soon as i start it up in the morning.
