What do you guys think of the magnetic drain plugs? I will be putting my 416 together shortly and was wondering if I need to be concerned with all the metal shavings the rings will produce from the new bore...

The drain plug is always a good Idea but there really is no metal shavings from the new rings seating. Just make sure you clean all the new parts well before installing them. the cylinder needs washed pretty good after the bore job.:)

the end is magnetic and as the oil moves over it "sweeps" the magnetic over the oil and pulls out metal shaving and stick to the end of the plug which has a tip on it thats magnetic.......................and it works if u got one particle touching another the magnetic force will pull both...............thats what i heard:ermm:

Chit for $7 you can not really go wrong. Even if it does not work then it was a few dollars spent for a good reason....

Could be early detection if you do ever have any bearing or trans problems...
