taller tire, more top end, but takes longer to get there. shorter tire, better bottom end, lose top end speed. if your quad is chain driven, you can change the sprocket sizes to compensate one way or the other, but i think the 250ex is shaft driven, right? so, to answer your question, the 22" tire will give you more top end speed.

The best power gain you can get is to NOT BUY A 250EX :huh

Yeah, If the 250ex didn't have enough power, why did you buy it?

hey guys.....lighten up.........maybe its all they could afford........you never know. think before you type

as far as performance goes......why not drill your airbox, get a decent set of 20" rear tires for better handling & see how you like it then. speed aint everything.

I'm not trying to be mean or rude or anything. Well, you could get a K&N power kit or maybe a pipe if you can find one. Tires would be good and you can't change the sproket because it's shaft driven. I'm not sure, but is a 250ex almost the same as a 250x? If it is then you can buy pipes from duncan or sparks

no a 250ex is a recon kinda and a 250x is a 300ex without the .06 (or something like that) boring on the engine to make it a 282

Ok, then sparks is gone but duncan makes their power exuast for the 250ex. I can't think of any thing else off the top of my head right now

NOTE:

The 250X is COMPLETELY different from the 250EX. A there is actually only 30CC difference between the 300EX and the 250X, everthing else is EXACTLY the same. Even the 2001 300EX Plastics fit on the old-school 1987 250X.

P.S.- no offense to 2001250ex , just saying that you should have gone with a 300EX/400EX if the 250EX wasn't powerful enough, cuz in the long-run, to make the 250EX powerful enough for you, you will end up spending more than it would have cost to get a 300EX/400EX.;)
