I need a tire that will hook up on hard packed dirt, grass, and loose dirt and that will slide around turns well, all i do is spin and i have blackwaters on there right now. What is the deal with grooving also?

Sounds like ya need some razr 2's on that suzuki ya got there heavy D..:macho

From what I've been told the razr 2's are almost to aggressive which led me to another tire...:o I got enough problems stayin on the quad as it is and if I put some tires that hook up like a mofo I'd be on the ground 10X more than I am now...

I got my tamers to hook up good in the loose muddy stuff, (ill take a picture of them tommorow). But ungrooved tamers should be your best bet on hardpack dirt.

But no matter what tire you use your going to have hard time getting them to hook up on a zilla.

i think its between turf tamers and razors, but i heard the tamers wear out fast, is this true?

Tamers still last longer than stock 400ex tires even if they are grooved. But razrs are still a great choice, there sidewalls are stronger ( not as likely to get punctured).

RAZRS or Holeshots XCR 6 ply,if your not mxing than no need to worry about grooving

as other ppl are saying with a zilla you will never have traction. Just a low point on a 2 stroke my 250r doesnt have great hook up like my 400ex did. You can try a shorter swingarm and that will help your traction 10 times over ;) but tires can only help so much.....................:p

Im gonna hae to strongly disagree with you there, the grooved tamers will wear out but not at fast as MXR's do. my stocker lasted a very long time and i did a lot of street riding and riding in the snow which wore them out spinning tires on the icy pavement... i grooved mine and feel that they work well on hard packed and amazing in loose, they throw a lot of dirt around, i run the 9.5's but a lot of guys like the 11's

How do you disagree with me?

Anyways this is about the same groove quadtrix has but on a 11 in tire.

i just got 18x11x8 turf tamers... i am just waiting on my rims... what is the best way to grove them?? someone said using a torch and sissors, warm them up and cut, and do it again... will it work or is there a faster way??

A cow dehorner, or a grooving gun.

Or if you have plenty of time just use a razor blade.

I just got the razors last month, road on them this weekend up north. wow what a difference. I was racing a kx250 down a dirt road, she hooked up and I was gone till about 3rd gear, then the kx blew past me. They are a huge improvment over stock, about the same in sand, maybe a little more grip.
