At least I thought you were goin..... Let's not refer to it as a "train"...lmfao:D Well my quad has been sitting like that (without the shocks on it) for quite sometime now. I decided on a new front end in the middle of April and removed the shocks then in preparation. Well my quad had been sitting like that since April 17 and I decided to go a different route from what I had originally planned. I'm going to SERIOUSLY try getting to the July Hatfield ride (if there's one planned like I think there is). I should have everything back and installed by then.

Rear shock just showed up! Not too bad--6 day turnaround on my rebuild (that obviously doesn't count the 9 business days of standard ground shipping).

Guy400
05-20-2003, 09:13 AM
I got about 2-2.5" of sag (measured from the rear of the nerf bar next to the rear tire) versus the stock shock with no weight on it. Argh, the arms should be here tomorrow and the shocks real soon. The hitch right now are the brake lines. C&D ordered them for me but they haven't shown up at C&D yet! I'm gonna be bummin' if the quad's ready to go except for some brake lines:(

estimate?

Guy400
05-20-2003, 09:40 AM
I would guess your price to be about $400. That's assuming that the rear you're sending to TCS is in good condition and doesn't need any other parts replaced besides what comes normally with the rebuild (things like bent shaft, excessively worn bumper at the bottom, etc. all will add to the final price).

Ralph
05-20-2003, 09:49 AM
im gonna go with the millenium then, 50 dollars less and heard it kicks

Nobody said we were allow to send Pappy bad checks! I still have cheques and no bank account! So pappy can expect a whole quad comming his way... JK

It looks good Guy, okay, thats a stock shock rebuilt by TCS right? Why would you be waiting on break lines? Thats what gearing down is for and your feet...

I was thinking of just tying an anchor to my grab bar and just throwing it off when I needed to stop.

I am not doubting you Guy, just asking a question.....Isn't that a single rate with SCS? Or does that spring make it dual rate? dual spring= scs...

Guy400
05-21-2003, 03:55 AM
TCS calls it dual rate with SCS. The smaller, upper spring only partially collapses. When the quad is just sitting with no weight on it the spring maybe compresses a 1/4 of it's total travel. When I sit on it, it compresses to about 1/2 it's travel.

Guy400
05-30-2003, 02:32 PM
Well they're on! Ran 1/4" toe-in and about much camber as you see in the pic:D It tracks straight and doesn't get twitchy in 5th gear pinned so I'm leaving it. All I need is to get those brake line holders and get some fluid in the front brake lines and I'm done (except for those front tires that Ben is supposed to be sending me;) )

Guy400
05-30-2003, 02:36 PM
The bushings in the front end are still pretty tight so I'm not going to start pissing with the fine tuning until they loosen up a bit. Even with the tight bushings the suspension is world's away from stock. I can go through my whoop section behind my house and pretty much just skip over the top where I used to look like a bronco at a rodeo. Haven't hit any big jumps yet but the overall handling is way better and it soaks up the ruts nicely now. A stabilizer and front bumper and I'm done with the mods for the summer.

Even up the camber, wash it, and you'll be race ready. :D ;)
