Buliding A Bike by Buying parts from Ebay?

Would it be alot cheaper if you bought individual parts off of ebay and then build your own custom bike? i got to thinking since theres 400ex frames on there for real cheap you could buy all kinds of cheap stuff on there to put on it. i mean theres always front ends,axles,shocks, etc. for sale.

what do you think?

yah, plus I wouldn't like dealing w/ paypal, shipping and all the bs that can sometimes go on w/ buying stuff on ebay.

Thats what i'm doing but i already had a motor and some other parts, your better off just finding the cheapest 400 you can and fix what needs to be done.
