I just replaced my pilot jet in my carb to a #42. It started right up in this Chicago 15 degree weather. Very happy with that. One thing though. The pilot I replaced the stock one with (42) is a little longer. The part that actually screws inward towards the carb is the same size, but the part where you place the screwdiver is a little longer. Where the old one was recessed a little in the carb, the new one is flush. Does anyone know if this will effect anything? Seems to run fine. Thanks guys.

It should be fine as long as it does not stick out of the casting in the carb. It is technically the wrong syle of pilot jet but wont pose any problems.

The longer pilot jet is normal and won't hurt anything.
