Whats involved with running alky?

Just thinking about trying alky. What are the requirments? Any downside? where do you get it.

First thing I would do is call FTZ Racing and get one of their 39mm FCR thats setup for alky,take your filter screen out of your gas tank(restricts the flow) and get I high flow fuel filter and thats basicly it.the downsides would be your going to be using twice as much fuel and when you're done riding for the day you need to purge all the alky out of the carb(trust me,been there).When I ran it in my 400 I had around 8 more hp.Hope this helps.

Is this filter screen accesible when the petcock is removed? I havent ever heard the quad had one:confused:

You are only gonna get about 1/3 you normal fuel millage by going to alky though:confused2 On the plus, your bike will run about 30 degrees cooler.

I don't think alky is going to be the way for me to go. It sounds like if you have a drag bike it would be cool but for riding the dunes mabey not:ermm: Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll have to pony up for a stroker.
