few questions. 300 motor.

hey,
i need to know how much oil to put in my motor, after i instal the oil-cooler.
i plan to break in the motor, change the oil,
ride it a little harder, change the oil, add the oil-cooler.

do i add oil as usual, then fill the coller with oil, clamp everything down, crank and check?

the cooler is 7" X 11"s, so what, ?....1/4qt of oil. extra.

I don't know exaclty how much extra it will take, but you could before you install the cooler fill it with oil if you can, then add the regular amount to the motor which is 2quarts. Then start it up for a few minutes and check your oil and see if you need to add any.

Fill your oil cooler full of oil before you install it. If you dont then your head will be running with no oil for the duration of time that it takes to fill the cooler. Thats not good.

i got ya on this one man. this is what we did when i installed mine. we hooked the bottom hose of the oil cooler up. We filled the motor up with oil and then we turned the on/off switch to off and pushed the button so it would just turn over but not start. we pushed the button until oil started coming out the top hose. then we hooked the hose into the head and filled the motor the rest of the way up. hope this helps ya man
