ok some kid just gave me brand new Mikuni 38m flatside carb. my question is will it work on my 400? i know i will prolly have to do some jetting, but will like the throttle cable fit good? or will i have to get a new cable, or a twist throttle. will it even bo.lt up to the manifold boots?

why wont it work?if it fits I say try it. A carb is a carb, all carbs are designed to mix air and fuel you may have to experiment with the jetting to get it right and be extreamly carefull not to jet it too lean but It might work and if it doesn't, well it was free

Rico is right it will not work ( sure the bike might start) > You need to understand just how different a two stroke and 4 stroke carb are.

You need a carb with an accelerator pump to run properly. Four strokes need the pump to perform well where two strokes don't.

oh well,I just thought It was worth a try, I have a 36.5 mikuni flat slide w/o an accl. pump and it runs awsome but i guess maybe thats because It's not that much larger than stock I dont know
