Blue smoke on start

Hi,

When I first start up my 2000 400ex (new piston, honed cilinder, new clutch, slip-on exhaust) it smokes blue for a while. It does this for about 1 minute, then it's gone. Runs fine.

I do have some oil coming from the valve-head (how do you call this, oil from underneath the engine head where the valves are located)

I also think the oil-level is a bit to high. (how do I check the level, let it idle for a while, kill it, wait a little and check?)

it sounds like you valve seals are leaking a little bit in other words when it sets over night theres a puddle of oil that sits above you valves and it slowly seeps through the oring and into the exhaust port, it nothing to really worry about as long as it stops once the bike warms up

as for checking the oil, warm the bike then check it
