be carfull when buying a used atv.i bought my 2001 400 ex for $3,800.00 0n dec 3 2002.i asked the seller if he had a outstanding loan on the quad.he said he did and that he would pay it with the money he sold the quad with.so the price was right and it was like new cond.thank god for my smart girlfreind who is a assistant lawyer.she made the seller sign (3) release papers.one of them being a promise note to pay off the quad with monies recivied from the sale of the quad.one would think with this the seller would do so.well on april 28,2003 a repossion agent came to my home to take the 400 ex.i told him it was not here and to get the fuc off my property.my girlfreind being a assistant lawyer tracked down the seller of the quad and i called him.i told him he had 2 choices.1 i would give him back his 400 ex and i wanted all my money back ,2 i would turn it over to the bank and i would see him in court.i also reminded him about the (3) release forms he signed and i would be sueing him for way much more than 3,800.00.the seller knew he had no choice (because of the papers he had signed) .so i gave him back the 400 ex and he gave me back all of the 3,800.00. it worked in my favor because i rode the quad for 5 months for free.MY POINT IS THIS .BE CARFULL .IF I HAD JUST BOUGHT IT FROM HIM WITH OUT ASKING HIM ABOUT ANT OUTSTANDING LOANS ,OR IF HE DID NOT SIGN THE (3) PAPERS i would have been out 3,800.00.be carfull who you buy from.if he states there is no loan then make him sign a release form that there is no loan .if there is a loan than dont buy it unless he has the satifaction of lein release form from the bank (check the vin # on form).or have him sign the same (3) release forms that i did.if he does not agree to any of the terms WALK AWAY.DONT BUY IT!! thank you so much joann ,its only because of your smart thinking that i got all my money back.:D :D

I'm in kinda the same position except for someone trying to reposses my 400. I traded my 2001 warrior and a 468 big block chevy(worth more than the 400ex alone) for this 2002 400ex. I told the guy I had to pay the warrior off and I would send him the title and he would send me the 400ex title. He told me he traded the warrior in for something at a dealer and to send the title there. I sent the title to the dealer 3 weeks ago and havent got the 400ex title and dont know what to do:ermm: :confused2 Any ideas:confused:

Have you contacted the dealer confirming whether or not they are in possession of the warrior &/or the Title at this time?
