Itruns fine for abou 10 minutes, then loses spark. It was doing it before I had the top and bottom end rebuilt (310 big bore kit), and still is. I took it back to the guy that did the work, and he changed a few things. Then it stayed running but had no power. now all of a sudden it has power but only runs until it warms up then no spark again. Any ideas before I scrap this thing? I have owned it since 1992 and have had no problems from it. I just want it fixed right so I can sell it

I have herd of this happen to a buddy's bike once. I think It was his fly wheel. I will get more info for you and let you know what he did to fix the problem. Because his bike did the Same thing as yours is doing. Do you know any one with a 250r? If you do you should start pulling parts off untill you find your problem.

Its the stator. I had the same problem. Make sure you throw in a NEW plug too once a plug gets fouled from a loss of sparf they realy dont work

My R has had about 10 hours put on it in the last 3 years. It will be for sale after I fix this problem. 1 buddy sold his to buy a house, the other sold his to buy a 400EX. I have een fortunate nough to keep mine for a back up ride, but neither my 400EX, and now my LTZ400 has yt to give me any problems. I am 29years old and have known these 2 buddies since Kindergarten and I wouldn't say they are dumb. Thanks everyone else for the help you have given me.

hey man it could also be casued by a clogged up carb, take the carb apart and clean it up. If the plug is wet when you take it out it is probably the carb ;)

My friend had this problem with his Kodiak. Try replacing the Spark plug wire/boot.

I already changed the plug wire boot, and when this happens I am using a new plug to see if it has spark. The carb is clean, the gas tank is clean, I cleaned everything out while engine was being rebuilt, and I just had the carb apart again. I hate electrical problems

mine did the same chit... after replacing the coil, no luck. then i replaced the cdi box, no luck. then, like the other's said, it ended up being the stator.
