I am sure with it in the stock location it would be putting some stress on the balljoints.
I HAVE DONE THE CONVERSION ON MY BIKE using the relocated top shock bracket. I used the whole complete front end offa 400ex spindle to spindle. I found with this setup my wheel have a more noticable negative camber. This was do to the fact the upper mounts on the frame are closer together when compared to the 400. Has anyone else noticed this? Have you found something else we should know. turning? lock to lock

Hey Kawboyz beware, Did your 300ex front end sit real high with the 400ex shocks? I installed Z400 shocks instead of 400ex shocks and the front end of my sons 300ex sits too high and the rear is still low. I thought it was going to widen it but I do not see where it did.

stock 300 shocks will work with 400/250r arms.
it'll sit lower, and you shouldn't jump it too high, but it will work.

stock 400 shocks, and arms, on 300ex with no brakett, won't work...i think the tie-rods hit the arms. plus it's too hi. like 12" of clearance in front..

the front sits at stock clearance, with the 400ex shaocks and arms, differant upper mount.
..upper mount bolts in place of the stock top mounts, with wider place's higher, to mount the 400's shock.

i donm't know who makes' it.

ive seen them on ebay..I made mine, havent found a problem yet. Does anybody know if i put 400ex spindles on the ends, if my 250x hubs will work, and my calipers will bolt up?????

How much wider do the 400ex arms make it?

i dont think it made it much wider......maybe 2 inches total. The biggest difference i noticed was the ride quality with the 400 springs. It doest bottom as easy, and rides soo much smother in my opinion.

we dont have the bracket yet but we did mount the a arms with the 300 stock shocks and it sits lower now and is also wider thn a stock 400!

same here dope.
..the 300 is wider than the 400 when you use the 300's shocks...
.seams weird to me.....is the 300's frame wider there, or is it wider b/c it's lower....blahh..what....

You just need A-arms, tie-rods and 400ex shocks or equiv.

The rest of the front end of the 300 can stay the same.

My bracket bolts on the upper shock mount and puts the shocks in the same location as the 400EX.

Your other option is custom made 14 1/4 inch shocks using the stock shock mount.

I have the "L" shaped pieces loose I could sell you. You would need some flat stock to connect them together.

$25 bucks

400ex arms are the equivelent to a +1, +1 for a 300, or somewhere real close at least.
