no loss with the dale.....and on a stock 400 just run a smaller front spocket if need be

so you guys are saying that bigger the headpipe the more top speed ya got? and smaller the more low end or Torque?

normally with a larger headpipe you lose back pressure which usually results in a slight loss of bottom end power....

i got an hmf slip on on my 300ex with a white brothers header and it is awsome. any header on a 300ex will help out because the stock one is so small and restrictive.
if i were you i woyld just get the hmf slip on and a fmf power bomb header, it will cost less and it will give just as good if not beter power.

HMF full systems are actually designed to incress bottom end power. I have one on my 463 and love it.

how loud is the hmf slip-on compared to the e-series or fmf, etc. i have a cobra and have the loudest bike of my riding crew. everyone else has the e-series including my old lady. i want something different but not louder. any info would help,
thanks guys.

The only thing louder than a Cobra would be running just your head pipe. Stay away from the cobra and dg pipes.

the hmf is quiter then a cobra, but louder then an e-seris with the disks
i love my hmf, it is a good choice and they have good customer realtions

HMF now makes a quiet core insert which they claim keeps it down around 92 decibels and keeps 95% of the power. I will put one in my HMF slip on when i install it on my Dale.

Love the HMF on my 400! That's all I have done to my didn't notice a loss on bottom end power, but I put it on before I started riding this year. A guy that races a 440 rode it said he was surprised at how strong it was for a basically stock machine.

I have an HMF on my 400 and it definately woke it up. I also had the 14T sprocket on before I did the full system. It's not too loud, but it'll wake the neighbors. Once again....I love it:p

HMF = :macho

Big power gains over the stock pipe, and that's only with the slip on. Power increased over the entire power range, I'm happy with it.
