I am building a YZF426 quad, and need to know which is best company to get a rolling chassis for an alright price, not like Roll that costs like $10,000. I was looking at like herrmann and JRD and need to know others and prices. I saw a guy building one on here before with all herrmann and if he could hep me out that would be great. Also, do you think Arens could make one???

Thanks,
Alex

If you want the best for under 10G, get Walsh or Laeger.

Honestly. try The new designed Lonestar frame. get the Baja. It has stronger tubing. The walsh will have atleast a 12 month wait. Atleast. maybe 24 months. The leagers will be almost as much. I know the old lsr stuff sucked but the new stuff is good. And the baja is even better. DOn't get hermman. Well atleast i wouldn't. BUt its up to you. Houser is nice too.

Most of the frames are similar. Make sure it uses CRF450 linkage and not stock 400EX. Then put a real good front end on it (Roll, Walsh, T-pin) and you are set. PRP makes a good, but cheap frame.

??? crf450 linkage?? wtf? are you talking about the swinger?? or the rear shockks setup? use a cr500 lingake in the rear. and most 426 setups are 250r style not 400ex .If you get the houser it all comes together. Swinarm and frame and engine mounts. THe rear is a cr500 link. Im not sure about the others. And i wouldn't consider all frames equal

some companies when u build a YZF frame they set it up for a YZF rear linkage... i think it mayb walsh or laeger... i am thinkin laeger...

the laeger and walsh frames are probalby the best out there but u have a 1 year wait or so for one... if u go with a jrd it will still use a 500 link rear end and won't have the wait and it will cheaper... its a laeger copy...

the houser frame is a 250r geo frame but its not narrow in the front and its not a 500 link rear...

if u build this quad don't go cheap on it with a lonestar, houser, etc that don't have 500 link rears... the 500 link will soak up stuff alot better and its worth it...

Yeah, I was thinking of the CRF450 motors. Some of them are using a 450 linkage. I am not sure on the 426 Yamahas. The only 426's I have seen are the houser no-link swingarms. And I do not consider all frames 'equal', but MOST are similar in the geometry.

alright lemme break this down for you all!!

The JRD as far as i know is a copy of a ROLL DESIGN!!
The Hermann chassis is a narrow front cr500 link long travel 250r based frame
The houser is a no link rear 250r based frame with standard front end
The laeger is a narrow or wide your choice 250r based frame with either a cr500 or yz linkage(the yz4 linkage is almost identical) so its your choice there also
I have never seen a 426 roll design?
the lonestar i have yet to see
The walsh chassis is a 250r based narrow frame long trave with cr500 linkage as far as i know !

I hope this helps

ALL CHASSIS are not EQUAL!!

Walsh uses the link of the bike of which motor your using (i.e. CRF uses CRF link and YZF uses YZF link).
PRP also uses the CRF link on their 450F frames.
Laeger uses the CR500 linkage I am pretty sure on all frames, bc my friend ordered a 450F frame and needs the CR500 linkage
LSR uses no link
Herrmann is no link
JRD is no link
..
There are different pros and cons of each rear end set up

Laeger's and Walsh are available in wide or narrow frames I believe

hell there are so many chassis companies now, its hard to keep track, but thats the best of my knowledge so far.

I run a CR500 link on my R, and to tell the the truth, it's the best thing I've ridden on to date. I have yet to ride a no link besides a C-dale.

You may want to seriously look into PRP, they have EXCELLENT chassis and components, theyre frames are around or under 2 grand with a 4 week wait. I run their swingarm and it is top notch.

BTW, the 1991 CR500, 250, and 125 linkages, all have the exact same part number...

i screwed up there...

JRD is a rollz design copy...

PRD is the laeger copy...

all these RD names always get me confused... theres to many of them haha

Get the Herrmannracing no link yz/cr frame setup.
