what could i do to my quad to give it some supstancial amout of power without boring or stroking the motor. stuff that i can either ajust or buy from the local shop. how much will this cost?

Engine biulders exhaust $430-600
Edelbrock or fcr 39mm Carb around $450
K&n flilter around $50
Dynojet Kit $50
Msd ignition $450
Thats all I can think about motor wise.
Suspension and a good set of tires will also help.

How much of a difference does the MSD Ignition make?

It made a nice difference on throttle response. And it burns cleaner. I would recommend it because its so adjustable. You can adjust the rev limiter up to 10,250 in 250 rpm incremints, Adjust timing 0-7 degress. High speed retard. It'll work even better when I bump up the comp. and cam

how much is that ignition? hard to install ?

NO its easy. It came to 432.51 for everything.

thats alot for my budget im still trying to convince my dad to let me get a pipe he sais that there is no inprovment in the performace and that all i want it for is the sound. thats not true i want it for the mid power for climbing hills. and the pipe i want is either the lrd or the hmf. there not all that loud either. he sais its a waste of money. but his toys get to have exhaaust on them and there aloud to loud as h3ll

Get a can of whipping cream at the store it uses NO2 as the propellant. Do not shake, turn upside down and spray into intake while appling throttle. Hang on 'cause nitrous oxide boost is a thrill.

Okay that's a joke and won't work, probably just make a mess.

Pipe, jetting and intake air flow mods result in the best bang for the buck for "bolt- on" goodies that you will feel the difference. With a slip-on pipe and dealer individual jets a UNI filter you should budget for around $250 total.
