East coast can build some nice "looking" bikes thats about it..I seen some of their quads and one that i did notice was a YZF426 and they put all that money into a quad and couldnt even build a head stay, real professional eh

I can check the price because i go up there every friday to buy parts and talk to the owner Dave gibson which is sorta my friend now. I would guess around 15,000 because i saw a tt 400ex with everything for about 11,000 or somethin and it rips arse.

ECATV builds real trick quads. I really like the Walsh ones they build. Sheridan Race Products also builds Walsh CRF440 bikes identical to Dana Creech and Mike Walsh's. I think he may even build their bikes. I'm not sure of prices, but give Phil a call..He's a super nice guy. Tell him Kyle sent you.

The retail cost to build one of them would be around 25g's including the polishing and chroming. You can get one used for about 15-20 grand.

Are you talking about the stock frame 400ex conversions? Otherwise they are walsh chassis that all have really nice headstays.

05-20-2003, 03:16 PM
ECA did my 400ex YZ426 conversion and they did a real crappy job if you ask me. That frame has broke where they ground and welded every time I ride. They cut out braces that should have been regusseted and there welds look like chicken scratches. My bike doesn't have the headstay either and the motor mounts are breaking. My motor is stock and I've only raced it 3 times. I wouldn't have them build a quad for me. That's just my opinion though.
