i bought some on ebay for 100 a piece they have the beadlock outside and ring inside. very nice rims for the price. i had to buy something else after i bent my douglas 190 and these rims are holding up great.

you just cant beat them for the price......

Dave400ex
05-12-2003, 12:27 PM
Pappy can they get 4+1 offset for the fronts?

Pappy
05-12-2003, 12:29 PM
i can ask him. i dont think he does them on a regular basis...just the standard 3/2. i am buyin 4 from him soon.....i have douglas ultimates for the "look" but will use his for the majority of the racing duties. its kinda hard walkin in the shop and seeing a ton of them rims sittin there:p and not want some of them:D

Dave400ex
05-12-2003, 12:32 PM
Awesome, I hope he can because for the price you can't beat them...

05-12-2003, 12:34 PM
I'd have to say for the money there's really not a better deal anywere that I've found...

I bought them off ebay, and they had Douglas stickers... IMO all beadlocks are the same.

Pappy
05-12-2003, 12:41 PM
yep...burgard buys douglas .190 rims and then adds the inner rings and beadlocks.

Tommy 17

my champs look identical to those and cost 30$ more:o

i wish burgard made them last year...

my champs are made from a douglas .190 also...

I have just got them but they loose a pound of air every 15 minutes

the tires are brand new and the bead has seated and is properly clamped on, I also but a good 1.5 bottles of slime in just to make sure it wasnt the tire, the valves are also brand new and the air isnt leaking there

after I washed off my quad, water was sittin on the inside of the rim between the beadlock and the middle of the rim....bubbles were slowly coming out of the back side of the beadlock where the bolts go through, I might have to take the tires off to get re-welded but I'm not sure yet

05-13-2003, 08:51 AM
Muff you sure it's not the bead... I know me and Jeff had a heck of a time gettin mine mounted up without leaks...:ermm:

did you take a razor knife and cut the extra BS rubber that comes with new tires around the bead????

05-13-2003, 01:18 PM
Pappy, if he is willing to make 4+1 offset front wheels I may be interested in buying a set also. Does he not make them because of the demand, or some other reason? Also, just to confirm, his prices on the website are for two (2) wheels, correct?

400exBro
05-13-2003, 01:18 PM
he sells lsr i talked to him before and he said that he has lsr axles for 349, but quadshop sells them for 335, so i hope he can match that price....

rims i will take them at that price becuase that is an awsome deal, 210 is a excellent price/...

o well i will try tomorrow, after 3 and see if i can get anybody, if not i wll send him a fax telling him what i want, and he should give me a call back...

What is the story on his new frames he is building? Do you have the inside scoop?

Pappy
05-13-2003, 02:03 PM
the frame is about /2 done still sitting in the jig:( he expected a slow period that he could finish it and get the small parts out to be laser cut and finish up whatever else needed to be finished but that didnt happen:devil he has been busier then a one legged man in an asskickin contest:D the new design a arms ....his normal stuff...and the rush of people ordering beadlocks has him flat hammered. im hopin he gets on it soon myself cuz id like to have one:macho

bro....i will tell him in the morning that you are trying to place an order. dats all i can do:ermm: why do we always cut things to the last minute around here:confused2 lmao

85:eek2:

jesus man have tried some spray lube...ive never had a tire not seat at recommended bead seating pressure. maybe take it to a qualified tire store before you blow that thing up:huh

Ralph
06-24-2003, 09:38 AM
take out the valve, are you using an aircompressor? the bead insnt any differant than any other douglas rims since they are douglas rims with bealdocks welded on...

Ralph
06-24-2003, 09:40 AM
and the good ol finger snatching way, mount the tire and pour a LITTLE gas around the bead and light her off with a lit paper towel. and keep ur fingers out of the way. THEY WILL SEt!

ScreaminZ400
06-24-2003, 09:45 AM
yea lol

400exBro
06-24-2003, 10:18 AM
i used plain dish washer soap.... put on the bead and it slid right on...

a word of adive, i would put a bead of silicon around the weld, were the outer beadlocks ring is welded to the rim... mine was leaking there, i put silicone around it and it stopped...

$25-$35 per tire to mount that is a total rip off and I am sure that they have one of the good tire machines and don't have to do it manually.

Yeah when I had my Razrs mounted on my stock rims I couldn't believe how much some places wanted. Finally I went to our local guy and he did them for $10 a piece.

when you get the rims you might just want to put a seal of silcone around the weld on the inside of the rim(both sides), mine had a pin hole and it would leak, so i would do that before you get the tire mounted like i did... they are hard to get off once they are on...
