Pro design kill switch?

Hey,

I just switched from my magura kill switch (which was the biggest peive of crap) to a pro design kill switch. The magura was alot more simple to hook up, it had all the wire connections on it already and all you needed to do was switch some of the ignition wires up. With the prodesign it is basically two wires with no connections on them. I know I have to ground one and the other has to go to the coil right? Where do all you guys run the ground wire to? And were do you connect the other wire to the coil? Thanks in advanced.

i just put one on my 300ex, first look for the coil, on my 300ex it was on the left side under my front plastic mounted on the frame there should be 2 wires coming out of it, on is like green the other is like black with a stripe (this is how it was on my 300ex) the green one is a ground, and the black one runs to the ignition then just splice the long wire from the kill switch into the black wire that has a stripe, and ground the kill switch's short wire. i grounded it the the same place the green wire was grounded.

Thanks, I know were the coil is I just wasn't too sure about the wiring. Does anyone know if its the same for the 400?

WOW I got one on my 400 and you dont hook it up to the coil. That is only for two strokes. I called pro design twice while hooking it up. You have to find the negative pulse wire up on you handle-bars. I think that it wasthe pink one.

on my old 400 i ground it to the steering stem bolts ...like where the stemn comnnects to the frame and from there i hooked it to the coil ( under the left front plastic right by your fuel petcock ) the front wire i just spliced it to that and it worked flawlessly... actually i just put a new one on the 250r tonite..

Pro Design Kill switch wiring on a 400EX:
1) Wire #1 to common frame ground
2) Wire #2 to ignition wire, follow it from the regular EX control pod kill switch, it's a BLK/WH wire. Just splice into it anywhere along it's length.:)

Thanks guys. After riding yesterday I've decided to put my tether cord switch on my 400. This thread will make the installation alot easier.... I'm printing it now!

i spliced the one wire to the wire that is black with a yellow stripe and it works perfectly

I spliced mine on my 400ex in to the black and yello wire on the coil
