I was wondering how much of a difference there is between a 416 and a 440?
These would be complete jobs, such as a National kit of Sparks racing.

Is it worth the little difference in price to get a 440 instead of a 416?

good question...i would like to know that myself:D

More reliabilty with the 416 I have raced 440's and was not impressed. Those 440's get hot and you know heat=less horsepower.go with the 416 spend the extra money on port/polish valve job etc...

Hey Honda_Racer, is that your 400 in your avatar?

If so, that is super nice, but you should post the original pic!

Plus, it sounds like we are both interested in doing some of the same things to the Honda!

You already have the X6 but I plan on getting it this summer, along with the 39mm FCR. But I'll probably be saving for the complete 416 Sparks National kit, 11:1 piston, rod, HD v. springs, port and polish(with the 3 angle valve job), sparks race cam, HD cam chain, true and weld crank, and the hinson clutch w/ basket!
If I missed some things off their list, I am getting them all. Just got to get my name on the waiting list and send the motor to Cali!:D

the 416 will rev faster but the 440 is a torque monster.

The 416 is a better kit for the money. if you really want to the 440 right you have to spend a lot more money in the long run. I went with 416 kit and love it,

Hey Honda_Racer,

My name is Jayson, yes w/ the Y,
so you want to get the Sparks 416 National kit too?
Is your name on the waiting list? If yes, how did you get it on?
Not sure on what you meant, "so where u live i am assuming your name is jay"?
i am having truck trouble (engine) and have to save for half of the price before i can get the 416 national (father is halfing the price of the motor).
I live in Missoula, Montana if you were wondering, about the 2nd to 3rd largest city in Montana (only about 75,000 people).
Keep in touch!!!

What does everybody prefer, 416 or a 440?
:confused2

no, no, and no lol...my name is yurik and i live in kansas...i want almost all the parts u do except i wanna get an oil cooler and the 440 kit...:D

I chose my mind, before you posted last, I also want the 440 kit.
I am will get a secondary oil cooler, air scoops, and maybe an oversized oil tank. the 440 sounds like it just makes crazy power, want to RIP IT UP!
How does that X6 sound, deep? Nice pipe? Which coating do you have, heard all but the stainless steel with rust?!

I never said that i couldn't "turn some wrenches" or that i don't know stuff but i'll be working full time this summer to pay off the project

I said my plan is to, and a plan can be changed, so don't be harshing on me for some small install situation. I'll buy a repair manuel, and i could do it, but i was quoted like 20 bucks to have the parts installed

relax

20 bucks for what parts...just the carb and the pipe?

Sick0

I work 70 hours a week and try ride twice a week. I race every othere week end and still rebuilt and mantain my bike my self.

for 20 dollars I would do it.

maybe there some misunderstanding here but i think 20 bucks my be just the prep fee, cause i don't know of any shops from here to the west coast the would put a pipe and carb on for 20 bucks, usally they will charge 20 just to drive it into the shop

I was thinking about it too. I bet they would put it on but I don't think they would fine tune the jets for that price. Its takes to much time to dial a carb in for that price.

How would a 416 match up with a piped raptor
