Pappy
05-10-2003, 01:04 PM
traci cecco was doin really well and out in front until she bent an axle....that in itself didnt slow her one bit....but when the ensuing vibration rattled off the oposite side lug nuts and her wheel fell off:eek: that slowed her a bit:grr after retrieving 2 lugs she still finished 3rd:eek: :D that lil gal is a piece of work. great job traci...youll get them next time:D

rick cecco(465stroker) took 3rd in the A class 4 stroke.
jeff at the quadshop took 6th....he was flyin until he blew a rear tire:mad: i changed it as fast as i could and he was off again....he went from 10th to 6th on the last lap...tuff luck jeff:scary:

zracer brought home 7th....he too was running good until on the last lap his bars came loose:grr oh well....7th is better then a DNF:macho

john natalie was there and rode Quin's 400ex. he took 9th in his class. he said he was ready for another 5 or 6 laps....so watch out....youll liable to see him at a gncc near you!!!!

johnny g was out with the hammerdown and grabbed himself a 9th place finish. i think he needs rico to give him a pre race swig of the shine:devil j/p bud...you looked good as always!!

What an awesome time! It was nice to meet you Lou (Quad041). Ben, you will be happy to know that Quad041 had his EXRIDERS Shirt on, that's how I recognized him. I seen The Quad Shop trailer, but no one was around, so I missed you guys.:( Traci ran an awesome race! All of us at Rausch Creek are really proud of you, you did great!!:) You will get 'em next time! We are really proud of all of our guys!! Sorry I had to miss the afternoon race, I had to take the little lady to a Birthday Party. I thought I could leave the party early and catch the end of the race, but she cried so we stayed. I had the best time ever and we hope you all did to. You GNCC racers are a great bunch of people and we look forward to seeing you all there in the years to come!!

the first tunnel was really scary on the first lap, fir the first time in my life i got a little closterfobic(sp?) from all the other quads and smoke stuck in there, but after the first lap it wasnt so bad.

tina, nice meeting you too, hope i see yea at the june 7 and 8th ride ill have the mx bike and will be more in MY type of element then (jumping and mxing).

by the way, how did everyone do....i got 19th out of 32 in the vet class.

Man what a race. I don't think that I've hurt this bad in my entire life. I am still having stomach cramps over a day later. The morning race was alot of fun. Inkinda a sick way. The track was a ***** and definatley those tunnels sucked. Overall it was a good experience.

Congrats to Rowlrag for a class win. And he kept trying to talk me into racing his class. Huh. I guess so he could have beat me too.

I got to meet Popo, Jeff, and Rowlrag for the first time. Great guys. And they didn't seem annoyed when I asked countless newby questions. Really a group of class act guys.

I unfortunately didn't get to see the handing out of the skirt. I was helping Mike Benson? FST pro production racer. He needed a front hub off a EX and we raped my EX. He's got some fast mechanics. We had that hub off my quad and on his Suzuki is about a minute. Which I didn't know a honda hub fit a suzuki. He made it down to the line while they were saying the opening prayer.

I guess the best part of the race weekend was the helping out everybody did for each other. I had people running around looking for a hammer and pry bar like mad men. Then out of nowhere comes this stranger with a pry bar and hammer. He bent the tie rod straight for me. Thanks to him I was able to get back in the race. I even had a woman(hottie) help me pull my pants back up. *******s kept falling down and nothing like a cold arse while trying to stand up:huh It was great how everyone helps each other.

Sucked that there were some many of us site members there and I didn't get to meet everyone. I was looking for Pappy. I saw Z-racer but that was on my way out. But hey maybe next time.

Take care,

Ray

btw-I took 4th in 4st c 25+. I guess not too bad for my first GNCC. Dang bent tie rods(both sides) kept holding me back. Guess I should quit hitting trees.

MEL
05-11-2003, 05:32 AM

Great looking pics Kenny! Yeah, things can get real busy in the pits. Hard to get good pics when your watching over your shoulder for them to come in. Of course, pitting is where the action is also. What happened with jeffs lugs? He forgot to put never sieze on them?

i don't know what class this was. predators on the inside...
bansheeguy, i did 3 laps. had 2 flats. thought i only had a front. went out and went about a 1/4mile, turned down by the start and went back to change the back. lost quite a bit of time, so i just tried to stay out of peoples way. ballance and the crew went by me about 1/3 of the way through on the third lap:( they were hitting the rocks like they were pebbles. btw, was this course as bad as wisp? if not, i'm skipping that one... to many parts getting beat up. i saw 8 skid plates, and 1 chassis skid laying in the track. i was thinking about stopping and picking them up for aluminum scrap, to help pay for the trip !:p

You must have been standing right behind me when you took a couple of those first pics. You got the back of my head in 2 of them. Then you must have been standing right next to my truck when you took those other pics because that is exactly where I was parked. Do you remember the silver chevy in that corner? Had a red EX sitting near it. How long did you hang out there? Maybe we even b.s.'d.

Hey Jeff, I had a great time racing with you.

Now that I am almost settled into my new house, I can finally put away my carpenters belt and grab a wrench once in a while, so my quad won't fall completely apart before the end of a race.

Rick, you don't have to turn my key off to beat me off the start, Ha Ha. I went to start my quad and nothing happened. I looked and saw rick take off like a flash, and I was like what is wrong with this quad. Then, I noticed the key was off, so I turned it on and watched everyone go into turn one. Next time, I will not forget to turn it back on after practicing my start. BTW, Rick GREAT FINISH, and thanks for the earlier compliment. I always look forward to racing with you. We always seem to make contact atleast once in everyrace, and neither one of us wrecks(THANK GOD). BTW, I am just trying to hold on when I am racing. The super glue Pappy uses on my hand and the throttle doesn't always work.

Traci looked Awesome! It was a shame her wheel fell off.

I can't wait for the Penton race. That was were I had my First GNCC race in 2001. I led the 1st hour and then wrecked hard. I hit a rock in the creek bed and did a flip off the quad. I finished 13th, but was hooked.

Again, I owe a lot of credit to Pappy this Weekend. He was awesome in the Pits and he took some great pictures as usual.

Finally, Burgard Cycle was a great help in getting my Quad ready for my Saturday and Sunday races.

Does anyone know what brand of axle Traci was using? I sure hope that it wasn't a stock Z400 as they are so well known for their strength. We saw her fly by on lap 3 and thought that something looked wrong. Glad to hear that she wasn't injured when the wheel came off.

I wish I could have met up with some of the quad shop gang. I got to the track after dark on Fri and didn't realize that I was pitted one turn down from them until everyone was busy on Sat.

Thanks for the pictures and stories.

She had a Lonestar Axle on it - and for how hard of a hit the axle took - I was glad that we had a Baldwin Motorsports pivot bolt or she would have DNF'd the first lap with the hollow stock unit. Somethings got to give in a wreck - I would bet that if the track was not as rough as it was the vibrations may have not been bad enough to loosen the lugs so that she could have finished the race...

Hi,

Congrats to everyone who finished well here. It was nice to have a race within 2 1/2 hours from us for once! Hey, I think that helicopter might have been for Brock Parker in the morning race. He crashed w/i the first 1/2 mile of the track & dislocated both shoulders. Shame.... he's won every race in his class this year until now, what a way to loose a winning streak. He races one of the utility classes.

See you in OH.

no speeding tickets this time, we were flying under the radar! Besides the air flows over the trailer better when you get above 85 mph.
