piped 300ex VS. stock YZ125

i have a big gun complete system on my 300 and a buddy tihinks his yz 125 will beat me in a drag race . i raced him on pavment before it was piped and we were even up to 3rd gear then he left off and made up some excuse. not i was wondering if i will for sure beat him.

A new 125 two stroke will have about 30 hp. Your EX is less than 20. You really shouldn't ahve a chance unless the guy on the YZ is horrible. My old race ready KX60 can waste a stock 400ex now. Good luck on the next race though.

Maybe not top speed but all threw the gears it wouldnt surpirse me one bit if im way ahead of him..When i get my Quad engine back from LRD its going to have a complete racesetup .oversize crank and head mod..BUT of course im just talking about juse ahve it piped and jetted with out the head mod or crank..


MY friend had a 350 cc honda enurdo and we where out rideing and i was on his *** all the way when he was trying to lose me..
he was surprised..

I had a 250 suzuki 91 alwhile back and i raced this 250r he had alot more take off them me he got to top end before i did but of course i had more top end...and my was racesetup his wasnt..this was like back in 96..

I am pretty close to my buddies' 125's. I can waste their RM's, but the CR had a little bit more top end than mine before my latest work. I have never raced a YZ though, and haven't raced any of them with my new gearing or motor work. I really see it impossible for you to beat or even keep up to his YZ though, they are fast. :D

I've ridden and raced dirt bikes some too, so I think I can pretty much tell you what will happen.

If the bike is tuned right and he is a decent rider (he won't have to be extremely good) then you don't have a chance in an average length drag race. If the traction is good and he knows how to pull a start without getting sideways or pulling a big wheelie, then you will get him right off the start by about a quad length, then he'll go around you like you're backing up. If you want to keep as much of your pride intact as possible, keep the drag race short; it will take a bit for his small 2-stroke to get wound up and pulling hard.

As 4TraxRider said, if his YZ is a fairly recent model (95-up) and is tuned correctly, then he is putting 30-32 horses to the ground. You're putting maybe 18-19 to the ground. On top of that, your quad weighs about 400lb ready to ride, his bike weighs about 220lb or less ready to ride. It's hard enough to beat someone that has more horsepower, but if they've got more horsepower and less weight, then all you can do is pray for a miracle.

dude ur done... lol no offense but i raced my uncles kx and it killed me to where i couldnt see him once they hit there power band they are gone on pavement it is different the tire cant spin and grad it just goes so the 2 stroke wasnt really rung out or it would flip
